WQXA 105.7 the X personalities -- Nipsey, Earl David Reed, and Jen Shade of The People’s Morning Show--hosted the 28-hour marathon Pay for Play broadcast that began at 5 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, through 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 8. Listeners were invited to make a donation to Children’s Miracle Network to hear their song requests played on the air. The further the request is from the station’s alternative rock-and-roll format, the higher the donation must be. Every dollar raised stays here locally to help the kids and families that will be turning to Children’s Miracle Network at Penn State Children’s Hospital for support and care.
This past week was the 12th annual Pay 4 Play radiothon event that Universal Media was proud to sponsor. It was a monumental success, and we are so thankful that Mary Holland, Nicole Dean, Emily Currie, Nancy Rockey, Joanna and Ann Shields were willing to volunteer during this amazing marathon event. UMI volunteers helped answer the phones from 7 a.m. - 9 a.m. on Thursday, and Universal Media was proud to donate $5,000 while participating in a Matching Power Hour. We matched every donation that came in from 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. We are thankful for everyone who called in to donate.
We are honored to be a small part in helping to raise a record-breaking $265,010.26 to help kids at Penn State Children’s Hospital. Amazing! The gift of your time to Children's Miracle Network Hershey will support programs, equipment and research to give kids the #GiftofGrowingUp.
