Tony Friscia, an extended member of the UMI family, was only six months old when he was in a tragic car accident. He suffered severe injuries and was LifeLioned to Penn State Children’s Hospital where he underwent brain surgery. After spending three days in the hospital, Tony was taken to heaven. His parents courageously decided to donate Tony’s organs, so that he was able to save other baby’s lives.
Since 2009, Miracle Jeans Day has helped raise more than 3.6 million dollars for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The UMI Family decided to “Put Your Money Where the Miracles Are” and join Miracle Jeans Day on September 9, 2015. Universal Media participates in Miracle Jeans Day as a part of Tony’s Team. Our staff was able to wear denim to work, if they donated to the cause. Everyone was excited and many participated. To show our support, we decided to match 100% of our employee’s donations. We are proud to announce that the total amount raised for Tony’s Team was just shy of $1,000. We cannot wait for next year, as we hope to raise even more money for this amazing cause. No matter how much money you donate, we can’t bring Tony back, but we can give other kids in his position, a better chance at life! There are so many children who have been in accidents or diagnosed with terrible diseases and the people at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital want to help them! But we can help too. Julie& Todd, Tony’s parent’s thank you all for your unending support over the last three years through this journey to make sure that Tony’s death helps to raise awareness and money for this great cause.
